OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Sunset Lodge contracts the services of an Occupational Therapist team to provide assessment, consultation and (in some cases), treatment services to residents.

The therapist assesses, treats and makes recommendations to resolve problems such as those associated with daily living activities, independence, ambulation, mobility, pain, posture, gait, strength, co-ordination, skin integrity, joint range of motion, and other related health issues. The therapist also assists with the prescription of appropriate equipment and aids as required by the resident.

If the mobility aid your loved one requires is not provided by Sunset Lodge of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, the therapist will be pleased to assist you with a prescription and a referral to the appropriate supplier – or assist you with any insurance company claim or Extended Benefit Plan application.
