01 May Update for the Week April 25-May 1

Hello Everyone,

Another week has gone by and Sunset Lodge remains COVID free! Thank you all again for continuing to follow the COVID-19 protocols that Island Health has put into place to keep our residents safe.  I know it has been very difficult not to regularly see the people you love but the more we follow the protocols the faster we can get back to some semblance of normal.   Your patience and understanding during this incredibly difficult time is greatly appreciated  by all of us here at Sunset Lodge!

The Activity staff continue to work hard every day meeting with all our residents so that they residents have some social connection and opportunities for positive interactions every day. I am also back in the office now so I am able to connect daily with the residents as well.  I can honestly say that as I walk through the halls of Sunset Lodge I hear a lot of laughter and connection between the staff and residents and it is really heartwarming to witness.  The staff and residents alike have demonstrated a resilience and ability to see the positive in bad situation that I find so inspiring.

Thank you all again for the lovely emails and messages you send in for our staff.  They are all printed off and placed on our Thank You Board in our reception area so the staff can see them.

As I mentioned earlier, I am now working from the office again as is our Chaplain, Scott Richardson.  You can reach either one of us by phone or email as per usual.
